Personality: Spoiled brat is what describes her the best. Rikiya is immature and whiny, always demanding things to be her way. She is needy for attention, especially for Risa, and, if her conditions are not fulfilled, won't come out even as a Hitodama (spirit ball) despite the situation being life threatening. Although, she does have a kind side and does deeply care for the ones she considers friends, usually being very sympathetic and supporting when they are facing difficulties.

Rikiya is the only spirit Risa bonded with. The relationship of two is quite complex, given Rikiya's whiny and spoilt attitude. Rikiya was the only child of a rich immigrant family in her time, and was kidnapped to lure money out of her family. Although the pay instalments were made, the girl would go through tortures and was accidentally killed in a process. She haunted the site for many years, and kept on doing so after the school was built on the site. Despite a brutal death, she remained as childish as she was upon her death. She tends to irk out the fellow spirits, most of time targeting Amidamaru as his calm posture looks like a challenge to her. She's not the most favourite person among spirits and shamans alike due to her difficult character. However, being a teacher, Risa is used to deal with difficult children and is capable to find a right approach, hence she can find zen with Rikiya. She is very demanding for attention and Risa, who can't get over her cuteness, is usually okay providing it, which leaves both satisfied.

Relationship: Friendship, although it might sometimes seems as master/slave, Rikiya being the master. However, it's only because Risa allows that. When Rikiya crosses the line, she will be stopped and won't disobey Risa.
First Met: Risa wasn't too successful in finding a Mochirei as she never truly knew what she wanted. She's often visit cemeteries and haunted places, hoping to find the one she could pair with. Secretly, she was expecting to team up with some wise old spirit of an ancient hero, to fall in love with although that kind of union could never be possible -- in Risa's head it played out as a great romance anime scenario she wanted to experience.
But her plot went down another route. Risa once overheard her students talking about a ghost haunting the school in another prefecture. It's said to be a particularly mischievous one, always causing havoc in girl's changing rooms, even during the day hours, let alone the evening. Risa got interested, mainly as she'd assume it was some pervy sage chasing after young living girls, and wasted no time to investigate. Few days later, she made it to site, although she had to sneak in at night. What she saw was beyond her expectation - it was a spirit of a tiny girl, dragging a club along herself and occasionally hitting the lockers.

Although it was nowhere near near her expectations, Risa wasn't disappointed. After all, the girl ghost was hella cute and looked just like an anime character. She startled the girl by jumping out from her hideout, and rushed to introduce herself as well as the purpose of this meeting. Without a second thought, Rikiya declined, saying she had no time for such BS. She also said she liked being where she is, as girls' changing room was always full of drama and gossips. Risa then said she worked as a teacher, and, if Rikiya wanted, she could sneak around the school, even the toilets, while she'd be at work. The girl ghost's interest was caught and she completely gave in, agreeing to become Risa's Mochirei after she made an offering of steamed buns. It was a lucky accident Rikiya just happened to love them.

Rikiya didn't have fox ears/tail while alive. She was often told to be a fox cub throughout her short life, and it stuck to her so well it became part of her soul, hence, after death, she's gained the attributes as a spirit;
She died at the age of 13;
Rikiya was as restless and mischievous alive as she is as a ghost -- she was a bit of a vandal since she knew her rich parents would cover her had anything happened. She loved bashing things with a club almost same sized as herself, resembling what centuries later became a baseball bat. Hence she bonded well weaponry wise with a bat-swinging Risa;
Although she often mocks, taunts, pranks and moans about Risa, she loves her Shaman dearly;
Rikiya is actually very lonely. Her behaviour, both alive and dead, is aimed to attract attention and provoke. It's the only way she can think of being an eternal child;
Rikiya tends to wander off A LOT, often without letting Risa know. It gets her in trouble a lot.
